Watami opens today at MOA

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The local dining scene welcomes an exciting addition in Watami, the newest Japanese casual restaurant of the Bistro Group, the company that owns and manages the widely popular TGIFriday’s, Italianni’s, Fish & Co, among other local and international concepts.

Opening today, Nov. 10, at the second level of Veranda/Bayside, Mall of Asia, the 160-seater Watami offers authentic Japanese cuisine from sushi, sashimi ramen, hot pots to meat and seafood dishes, crafted with utmost care using fresh ingredients.

Delight in house specialties such as shrimp tempura roll, salmon and vegetable in rice paper, beef pepper rice, crispy chicken wings, Watami salad, grilled ribs and assorted rice dishes such as pork rice with egg yolk in stone pot and beef rice bowl with hot spring egg.

Watami is an international concept and is acknowledged as No. 1 in its category in Japan, where the concept started in 1984. Through the years, its phenomenal growth resulted in worldwide expansion and the opening of over 700 stores in different locations including Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Taiwan, Shanghai, Singapore , Guangzhou, Malaysia and now the Philippines.

While it keeps the traditional Japanese taste in its dishes, the interiors depict a modern Japanese lifestyle. Watami prides itself on the “Ishokuya” concept, which features a balance of three elements — delicious food, great ambience and good service that bring people together.
