Fersal Hotel gets a design makeover
MANILA, Philippines - The Fersal Hotel Group (FHG) recently re-launched the fully-renovated Fersal Hotel-Kalayaan.
The hotel now boasts three function rooms, the Kalayaan Hall, and two meeting rooms, one of which accommodates smokers. Each of the 49 rooms and bathrooms, as well as Fersal Hotel’s trademark restaurant, Inn Cafe, have been completely reworked.
The Fersal Hotel Group is owned and operated by the Fernando family, in particular, Jesus Songco Fernando (chairman of the board) and Elizabeth Salonga Fernando (president). Their children Jean Fernando (VP for operations and marketing) and Jesus Fernando Jr. (VP for support services) are also involved in the company’s expansion efforts. The Fersal Hotel Group owns and operates the Fersal Hotel chain, which has six branches, all situated in key districts of Manila: Annapolis, Cubao; P. Tuazon, Cubao; Andalucia, Manila; Kalayaan, Quezon City; Neptune, Makati; Malakas, Diliman.
In 2005, Elizabeth Fernando opened the first Hotel Elizabeth in Baguio City. This boutique hotel represents her discriminating tastes and sense of style. Style arbiter Tessa is responsible for the hotel’s luxurious Mediterranean interiors. Due to the success of this three-time Baguio Hotel of the Year recipient, FHG opened another branch in Cebu City in 2010.
“Fersal Hotel in the next five years will duplicate all the qualities of Hotel Elizabeth,” says Fernando. “Not in the size of total operations because Fersal hotels has fewer rooms, but in service and amenities.”
