New consul named
The hardworking president and chief executive officer of Alma Refrigeration & Cold Storage, Inc. Alfredo “Jun” Lagman, Jr. adds another feather to his cap with his appointment as the new honorary consul of Mongolia to the Philippines. The oath-taking rites was held at the Office of the chief of protocol at the department of foreign affairs where Jun received his Exequatur signed by Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario. Incidentally, Mongolia will celebrate its National Day on July 10. Congratulations, Jun!
Life with an officer and a gentleman
Pen pals—thus begins the first chapter in the love story of the first Philippine Marine appointed as Armed Forces chief of staff now Muntinlupa City representative Rodolfo “Pong” Biazon and his lovely wife Monserrat or “Monchie” after the then cadet at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio saw her picture in the locker of her nephew. Married first in a civil ceremony that cost only four pesos, the “golden” couple is rewarded with 50 years of marital bliss and three children—all accomplished in their own right.
