High technology meets style

- Julie Cabatit-Alegre -

MANILA, Philippines - You did not have to be a super techie geek to appreciate Sony’s grand launch of their new Bravia series — Models HX855, HX750, EX650, and BX350/450 — which was held recently at Shangri-la’s Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu.

At the core of all the high technology and top-of-the-line features of these newest Internet TV models is the fundamental value that Sony TVs are well known for — picture clarity, “the faithfulness of the image to the real thing.”

“We know that the best part of the TV has always been, and will always be, the picture quality,” Sony Philippines president and managing director, Takao Kuroda, remarked. “In life as in art, clarity is needed in order to appreciate an object’s true beauty.” The latest technologies and innovative features unique to Sony that consumers have come to expect have simply made it even better.

Picture clarity: Like the real thing

Sony’s new Bravia models are equipped with dual-chip picture engine and digital video processors that enhance picture quality, “providing life-like images by highlighting texture, outline and color,” Larry Secreto, director for channel and accounts management, noted. “By combining LED, high frame-rate, image blur reduction, and new frame creation, Bravia gives you dramatically clearer and more natural images.” In a side by side product demonstration with two of its closest competitors, the Bravia  displayed enhanced realistic images with sharper detail, contrast and color.

As Internet TVs, Sony’s Bravia models make it easy to experience the Internet on your TV.

With just the touch of a button, you are connected to the Sony Entertainment that guides you to the best contents and apps. You can chat with friends, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, stream videos, enjoy games, music and access more entertainment options from your TV. You also get limitless connectivity with your other Sony devices such as your laptop and smart phone, which you can use as a convenient remote control for searches and changing channels.

By linking your Bravia to your tablet, smart phone or PC, with just the flick of a finger, you can “throw” photos, videos and music from your portable device to the big screen of your Bravia TV. How cool is that!

Sony presented a number of other futuristic devices during the launch such as the new frameless 3D glasses made with light titanium, to make your 3D movie home viewing even more enjoyable. One more toy you will want to have in the future would be your own personal 3D viewer. The head-mounted movie viewer or “visor-style” headset looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.

The real thing: View from Acqua Restaurant, Shangri-La, Mactan where the launch of Sony’s new Bravia series was held.

As a leading manufacturer of audio, video, game, communications, key device and information technology products, Sony continues to be uniquely positioned as the leading electronics and entertainment company worldwide. The good news is, without compromising its high standard of quality, consumers will find that Sony products are now well within their reach. “It is not expensive anymore,” Secreto remarked. “You get the same consistent high quality at an affordable price.”

“The new Bravia series responds to every consumer need, from connoisseurs who demand the highest entertainment experience to those looking for an entry-level yet quality television,” Kuroda noted. “Each model continues our tradition of bringing trailblazing technology to consumers, allowing them to see the true beauty of whatever it is they are viewing.”
