A Champion for a clean environment

-

MANILA, Philippines - A project of the ABS-CBN Foundation, the Pasig River Run is one of the biggest charity events in the country that saw over 80,000 participants. Athletes, celebrities, society figures, marathon enthusiasts, environmentalists, and the public were seen running side by side showing their support for the project’s noteworthy cause.

Laundry detergent Champion strengthened its commitment to Filipino households and the community at large when it recently sponsored the 2011 Pasig River Run.

“It was a great privilege for us to be part of this event,” declared Carlos Bacani, Champion’s marketing manager. “We are happy to be one with the nation in helping save one of our natural treasures.”

Champion could not have partnered with a more appropriate event than the cleaning of the Pasig River. Champion is also credited for using environment-friendly ingredients while providing what most Filipinos look for in a laundry detergent. Champion Infinity in particular, has a technologically advanced formulation that combats tough stains and provides fantastic cleaning power on clothing.

Proceeds from the Run For Pasig aims to save the Pasig River and bring its life back.

During the event, Champion gave out T-shirts and product samples to race participants to remind everyone that Champion is not just a reliable laundry companion but also a socially responsible brand.

“It has truly been a successful event and we congratulate ABS-CBN Foundation for bringing the people together to save Pasig River,” said Jasper Tiu, Peerless Inc.’s VP for sales and marketing. “We look forward to supporting more events of this nature and being part of nation building.”
