Coastal lifestyle gets active at Pico de Loro Cove

MANILA, Philippines - The active lifestyle has always been a perfect fit and a central focus at Pico de Loro Cove in Hamilo Coast. Strengthening this commitment to providing for its members’ athletic inclinations, Pico de Loro Cove has recently announced the appointment of the husband-and-wife team of Dan Brown and Ani de Leon-Brown as its newest sports and recreation (S&R) consultants.

“Sports and recreation is an important element of the active lifestyle that we advocate,” said Rona Torres-Tan, senior vice-president of Costa del Hamilo, Inc. “Dan Brown and Ani de Leon innately understands this and we are confident about their vision for Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club’s recreational programs.”

The Browns bring to Pico de Loro Cove a wealth of experience as both successful athletes and professional coaches. Dan Brown is presently the head coach of the Philippine Triathlon Team and is involved in training beginner to high performance endurance runners and triathletes both locally and internationally. He was previously the assistant national coach of the Korean Triathlon Team. As a professional triathlete, Dan has completed 15 Ironman races and placed 8th in the Ultra Man World Championships in Hawaii. Some of his most recent professional results include the championship titles at the 2011 Mekong River International Triathlon and 2011 Sian Duathlon Championships.

Pico de Loro’s new S&R consultant Ani de Leon-Brown is well-equipped to expand the development’s sports & recreation programs due to her experience as one of the country’s leading female triathletes and multi-sport coaches.

Ani de Leon-Brown boasts an equally impressive list of achievements. A three-time Philippine National Triathlon champion, she was the first Filipino to ever break into the top 10 in the Asian Triathlon Championships as well as the first Filipina to qualify in Ironman Triathlon World Championships. Apart from these athletic accomplishments, Ani has also been certified by the International Triathlon Union as a Level 2 triathlon coach and facilitator. The first certified female multisport coach in the Philippines, she currently trains a number of triathlon squads including Ironkids, SuperTrikids, Fitness First Tri Team, Sabak Tri Team and South Tri Team.
