David Archuleta lets sparks?fly at Close Up Pyropalooza
MANILA, Philippines - Sparks will literally fly as American Idol star David Archuleta serenades lovers amid a spectacular fireworks display in Close Up Pyropalooza today at SM Mall of Asia.
Archuleta is in the country shooting for his mini-series Nandito Ako on TV 5, one of the projects he’s going to complete before embarking on a two-year proselytizing or service mission for the Church of Jesus, Christ of Latter-day Saints. Every male member of the church is expected to serve 18 to 24-month religious missions.
“The concert gives David’s fans the opportunity to celebrate the season of love with their idol before he embarks on a two-year hiatus,” notes Brian Duruin, Close UP brand manager. Joining David in serenading lovebirds are Zia Quizon, Indios, Never The Strangers, and Jamich.
Presented by Close Up, the toothpaste brand behind Lovapalooza, an event which made it to the Guinness Book of World Records in 2004 for the most number of simultaneously kissing couples, the Pyropalooza will be held for six consecutive Saturdays starting today.
As the crowd enjoys David’s concert, fireworks will light up the sky to make it an even more romantic event for couples this love month. Eleven of the world’s top pyro masters will compete for the honor as the world’s pyromusical master.
“This year, no records will be broken. Instead, we are mounting the biggest and grandest pyromusical show in the Philippines. The participating countries — South Korea and Malta, Feb. 11; United Kingdom and Spain, Feb. 18; Finland and Portugal, Feb. 25; China and The Netherlands, March 3; Australia and Canada, March 10; and Italy and the Philippines, March 17 — have created fireworks, which are in synch with the songs they’ve prepared for the show,” notes Duruin.
Well, no one celebrates the season of love better than Close UP. For the past years, they’ve been coming up with huge, memorable, iconic and record-breaking Valentine’s Day events: Lovapalooza and the making of the largest photo mosaic wall. Not only do these events inspire people to get closer, Close Up actually gives them the confidence to get up-close with their significant others.
With Close Up Pyropalooza, hopeless romantics on a tight budget have all the more reasons to celebrate Valentine’s Day as they can get a free silver ticket just by presenting a P100 proof of purchase of any Close Up products at SM MOA ticket booths located outside SM Hypermart, near the SM Department Store. Or get the best seats in the house — Gold ticket priced at P300 and VIP ticket at P500 — at 50-percent off by presenting the proof of purchase.
Purchase receipts starting Jan. 1, 2012 will be accepted. The purchase of any Close Up brand should be clearly indicated in the official receipt. Multiple receipts will be accepted. A maximum of three P100 tickets can be redeemed for every single purchase receipt. However, there will be no limit as to the number of discounted tickets that could be redeemed for every single purchase receipt.
Attendees will also get the chance to win an all-expense paid special dates care of Close Up. All they have to do is take the most romantic photo with the fireworks as backdrop, post the photo on their Facebook wall and tag Close Up Philippines.
“We will pick the most romantic photos. And if you win, your dinner date is on us,” Duruin enthuses.
