Maria Aragon’s memorable Bellevue experience
Filipino-Canadian You Tube singing sensation Maria Aragon was recently in the country to record an album and visit relatives in Ormoc and Laguna. During her stay, Maria and her family made The Bellevue Hotel, the luxurious five-star hotel in the southern metro led by brilliant general manager Patrick Chan, their official residence. The Aragon family, who was billeted in an elegant two-bedroom suite, attended the Bellevue’s intimate party for long-staying guests. Moreover, the hotel’s topnotch cuisine, relaxing ambiance and warm hospitality made their stay truly memorable.

Special occasions that matter
Two of my good friends recently celebrated their natal days meaningful occasions that they gratefully shared with the special people in their lives. The bubbly society columnist, jetsetter and Dance Sports Council of the Philippines founder and president Becky Garcia was feted to a birthday bash by the gracious Don Miguel Cerqueda. The happy affair had Becky’s society friends and guests having a most enjoyable evening replete with the delectable feast created by German chef Hubertus Timmel. Meanwhile, the dapper bachelor Hector “Tyke” Kalaw, grandson of well-known socio-civic advocate and philanthropist, former Senator Eva Estrada Kalaw, threw a birthday party for his friends, relatives, business partners and regular customers at the family-owned Bistro Miyake restobar in Annapolis, Greenhills. Parents Tyrone and Jo Kalaw, along with siblings Kirk, Evana and Ria, helped organize the affair. Revelers were treated to topnotch Japanese cuisine, enticing drinks and superb music.
