Asian glass, western innovation
MANILA, Philippines - The meeting of East and West is always an enchanted one, ever since Marco Polo marveled at the East. Born out of eastern tradition and western innovation is Lucaris. Its fine workmanship and excellent quality put it at par with traditional European crystalware.
Lucaris, a beautiful collection of crystal stemware produced in Asia, was recently launched at the grand ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental, Manila. The refurbished ballroom was transformed into a crystal arena with a huge chandelier carefully made out of Lucaris glasses as the majestic centerpiece. The high-profile event brought together foreign dignitaries, hoteliers and socialites, all eager to discover the mystery behind the Lucaris mystique. Guests were treated to overflowing Moet & Chandon champagne and gourmet treats from Mandarin’s Tivoli while being serenaded by international singer-actress and philanthropist Stephanie Reese.
Lucaris is created through a collaboration of Thailand’s Ocean Glass, Toyo Sasaki Glass with design by Martin Ballendat. Lucaris’ high standards have made it a favorite among establishments where gentility is the mark of grand hospitality.
Tradition infused with modernity, grace with function.
Lucaris is available in Rustan’s, The Landmark and select SM Department stores.
