Out-of-the-box look for Res|Toe|Run

MANILA, Philippines - Avid Res|Toe|Run shoppers are in for a major surprise when they visit Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong, as the country’s top shoe store recently gave its newly opened boutique a stylish “gourmet” look. 

Showing off an all-new, out-of-the-box concept that whimsically transposes one’s appetite for food into voracious cravings for trendy, hard-to-find global brands, the recently opened Res|Toe|Run outlet brings out the ultimate shoe lover’s unique sense of footwear style. Igniting this appetite is the infusion of style elements — sensibly constructed interior details that provoke a sensory perception of food, as if one is having a delightful dining experience.

According to architect Dindo Guerrero of Abesamis+Guerrero Architects — who also did Res|Toe|Run outlets in TriNoma, Glorietta and Ermita — the Shangri-La store is the first to show off the brand’s more contemporary and minimalist concept. Minus the usual wood, recyclable wine bottles and faux cooking tools that give character to the display area, Guerrero chose a more streamlined “modern kitchen” concept as inspiration.

Fresh look:  The new Res|Toe|Run-Shangri-La shop is a creative mix of gourmet food inspiration and minimalist elegance.  

 “The overall store ambiance is more trendy and upscale, using a predominantly white palette contrasted with black, brown and red hues. Imprints of a modern kitchen can be felt in the creative mix of surface materials,” said Guerrero.

When it comes to browsing its juicy shoe selections, the best selections of active, casual and leisure styles as well as rare, hard-to-find brands featured in the store are displayed in a functional yet creative manner. Built-up plywood counters were made to look like “piled-up plates” while typical restaurant elements like dining tables and chairs made of wood, glass and metal materials were blended in along with red and black tiles that run up and down certain sections of the wall.

Simple hues: Clean lines along with a predominantly white wall palette leveled up the store’s refreshing contemporary interior look.

 “Just like the philosophy in food, which is you are what you eat, with shoes it’s the same thing, you are what you wear because your style statement reflects your lifestyle and taste in fashion. Res|Toe|Run comes in as the perfect shop that serves shoe lovers’ multitude of choices that fit their individual tastes,” added brand manager Joy Austria.

Managed by Primer Group of Companies, Res|Toe|Run was originally conceptualized as the country’s first and only restaurant-inspired shoe boutique.
