The family that gives back...
Known for his philanthropy as well as being an astute businessman, senator and real estate mogul Manny Villar and his family, through the Villar Foundation, recently launched two projects in the city of Las Piñas. These are the construction of the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (SIPAG) Center and the Santuario de San Ezekiel Moreno. As the name implies, the Villar SIPAG Center will be pro-active in training and empowering the underprivileged to persevere in life. It will house a library or resource center for poverty reduction as well as a Villar memorabilia hall. Meanwhile, the 700-seater Santuario de San Ezekiel in Barangay Pulanglupa is just the first of 10 churches the foundation has embarked on building across the country as part of its outreach efforts. The groundbreaking ceremonies for both projects were led by Villar Foundation founding chairman Senator Manny Villar and managing director Cynthia Villar together with their children Mark, Paulo and Camille. Truly, a family that works for others is a family worth emulating. To the Villar family, may your tribe increase!
Another cultural evening with Minerva
Renowned Filipino violinist Joseph Esmilla with Maurice Lim The effervescent Minerva Tanseco and her jovial group recently attended the opening of the Museo Walo art exhibit at the Insular Life Building in Alabang. Afterwards, they proceeded to the auditorium to watch the enthralling concert featuring renowned Filipino violinist Joseph Esmilla with the Manila Symphony Orchestra who performed musical pieces like Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The show was part of the season presentation of the Filfest Cultural Foundation headed by Ting Ayllon and Vicky Zubiri with executive director Martin Lopez. What a truly inspiring night indeed!
