Summer course in modeling
MANILA, Philippines - This summer, model Rissa Mananquil teams up with theater stalwart Audie Gemora in My Talent, a workshop program at Eastwood City that invites kids, teens and adults to train in the fields of singing, dancing, acting and modeling.
Along with other performing artists and celebrities, Rissa will take to the stage, not to showcase the latest trends in local and international fashion, but to mentor and educate young would-be models. Rissa was president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) for six years, pushing for positive reforms in support of the local modeling industry.
Rissa’s modeling course provides lessons and training in the basic aspects of modeling. Sessions in building confidence, poise and projection will be offered under the strict guidance of expert professionals. The workshop will also provide an inside look into the do’s and don’ts of the industry giving students a unique edge that will surely place them ahead of the pack as they begin to venture into their future modeling careers.
Rissa has always shown fervent passion in the uplifting of models and the industry for the next generation.
Audie, on the other hand will intersperse in Rissa’s class acting for TV commercials, an integral component in a model’s career. Earnings from commercial modeling are more profitable than editorials or fashion shows. Models need to learn how to do a video audition (VTR), act for the camera, take instructions from a caster or director.
Summer fun: My Talent Co. partner Vilma Moredo, theater stalwart Audie Gemora, and model Rissa Mananquil Clinching a TV commercial is not only fun and fulfilling, it pays well and a great way to be discovered should the model opt to go into showbiz. “A number of our modeling students at My Talent have moved on to bigger things like Enrique Gil who stars in ABS CBN’s Good Vibes and Mula Sa Puso; Tippy Dos Santos who appeared in Idol and Shout Out; Wendy Tubusalla, now a member of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) and crowned Miss Resorts World; and Bryann Foronda, a much sought-after ramp model and recently featured in the 2010 Cosmopolitan Centerfold.
Classes are open to kids, teens and adults.
