Lancel reveals new Brigitte Bardot line and concept store

MANILA, Philippines - A worldwide star and the muse of the greatest artists of her time, Brigitte Bardot’s iconic spirit is relived and encapsulated in the latest collection of premier label Lancel.

The Parisian luxury leather accessories brand unveiled this unique combination of Bardot’s extraordinary beauty, free spirit and feminine personality with Lancel’s superior craftsmanship and design. The result is Lancel’s newest line of luxury bags.

Attending the event, held at Lancel’s newly renovated boutique at the Shangri-La Plaza mall, were Lancel CEO for Asia Pacific Miriam Bray, Riviera Luxury Retailers Corporation president and CEO Benito Lim, executive vice president and COO Huy Kun Lim, managing director Aileesa Lim, director Benson Lim and brand manager Hazel Lee.

Guests included Department of Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima and wife, Corrie, CATS Motors chairman and Sterling Bank of Asia vice chairman Greg Yu, actress, host, model, entrepreneur and former Miss Universe first runner-up Miriam Quiambao, and Rep. Mark Sambar of the PBA Party List.

The BB bag is Lancel’s tribute to the eternal jeune fille that every woman should have inside. It is the most sought-after design, considered a collector’s item, and is produced in limited pieces worldwide. The iconic drawstring bag features details that pay homage to Bardot’s spirit and style.  In addition, hints of her décolletage, hips, waist and tousled hair have been teased into the design. For a modern touch, there is a built-in pocket for a BlackBerry.

And in keeping with Brigitte Bardot’s strong belief in nature and the environment, the BB bag is a nod to eco-chic, and has been created using only organic textiles and fabrics.

Lancel was inspired by Brigitte Bardot as her personality and spirit embrace many of the brand’s own characteristics: audacity, elegance, irreverence, femininity and joie de vivre. 

This collection was revealed together with the unveiling of the new store concept and other Lancel collections, which include the all-occasion Miss Adjani bag brought to life by renowned actress and beauty Isabelle Adjani — a practical, soft and light bag with rare metallic hardware in rounded forms.

Premier Flirt, on the other hand, is both chic and timeless. A reinterpretation of the iconic drawstring bag, the Premier Flirt has been the symbol of Maison Lancel since 2006.

Lancel also gave the spotlight to its Paris Line, a vintage-inspired line of quilted bags. Intricate details include sensual leather top-stitched with Lancel’s signature motif and an engraved metallic plate which bears Lancel’s legendary address: 8 Place de l’Opéra.
