A successful GM conference in Cebu
One of the fastest-growing hotel chain in Asia, the Marco Polo Hotels, (MPH) recently held its Annual General Managers (GM) Conference at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), the only five-star hotel in Cebu City. Led by indefatigable chairman Alfred Ty and hardworking MPPC general manager Hans Hauri, the two-day event brought together 20 top executives from 10 Marco Polo properties in China, Hongkong and the Philippines. “It is our honor and privilege to host this year’s international conference. We are excited to showcase to our sister companies the best of what Cebu has to offer — great food, colorful dances, warm hospitality and a taste of local culture,” says Hauri. Highlighting the event was the presentation of the MPH Awards for 2009 including the “Associate of the Year” award, given by no less than MPH president Steve Kleinschmidt and vice president of marketing and business development Simon Pearson during a gala dinner at the Grand Ballroom. Stunning lawyer, realtor, and philanthropist Gilda Lim recently held her first solo voice recital at the Aldaba Hall of University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Quezon City.
