Affordable Tagaytay hideaways at SM Wind
MANILA, Philippines - A weekend get-away in Tagaytay is no longer just for the moneyed set,” says engineer Sandro Vicente P. Javier, AVP and project director of SM Wind Residences. “Our goal with the SM Wind project is to provide a taste of five-star resort-style living at an affordable price. We want to give more Filipinos the opportunity to own properties in Tagaytay.”
Tagaytay’s popularity as a weekend destination is quite easy to understand. The prospect of cooler day and nighttime temperatures, a more relaxed pace and accessibility from the metro is part of the area’s lure. Add to that endless opportunities for recreation and creature comforts, plus access to excellent dining, and you have a combination that will be difficult to beat. The only downside is that accommodations in Tagaytay can be difficult to arrange during peak seasons. Thus, part of the attraction of owning an SM Wind Residences unit is that one can enjoy Tagaytay whenever one feels like it. And for as long as one pleases.
The SM Wind Residences development is being built in 15.45 hectares of land, and will consist of 10 20-story mixed-use towers upon completion. After the successful launch of the first tower in 2009, SM Wind’s second tower was recently launched this year.
“We have enjoyed considerable success with Wind Residences,” says Sandro Javier. He shares that unit buyers are predominantly Filipino, with a good number consisting of retirees and Europe-based overseas Filipino workers. Although the target market for SM Wind Residences includes businessmen, senior managers, even young professionals have shown marked interest in the development. “We’ve had ‘repeat buyers’ who have bought in other SMDC projects,” notes Javier, perhaps an indication of the public’s continuous trust and confidence in the SMDC brand. “The public’s response to our project is very encouraging,” he says. Units are priced from P1.5 million to P3.4 million and target date for completion of the entire complex of 10 towers is in “10 years or sooner.”
The recently launched second tower of SM Wind will cover a total ground area of 30,359.61 square meters. It will house 862 luxuriously appointed units, each with individual balconies. One-bedroom units of 28.19 and 34.81-sq. m. floor area have been efficiently designed to maximize space and afford residents a panoramic view of the countryside.
Facilities include a 21-passenger elevator, 24-hour security, a well-appointed lobby and access to exclusive lifestyle amenities like lounges, a viewing gazebo and deck. In addition, reliable property management services and handyman services are made available to residents so that they can conveniently enjoy five-star standards in their SM Wind homes.
In keeping with the leisurely pace of Tagaytay, the entire SM Wind development has been designed with superior amenities for relaxation and play. These include a sprawling two-hectare lawn, jogging paths for running enthusiasts, and a playground area where children can socialize with their own age groups. Pocket gardens are strategically placed to provide breathing spaces within the complex, and active sports enthusiasts can enjoy the basketball, badminton and tennis courts. Alternatively, there is a swimming pool for cooling down. And while limited living spaces in individual units can only accommodate very intimate gatherings, SM Wind Residences also has function rooms so that one can conveniently entertain bigger parties.
“The success of SM Wind Residences is, in part, due to the fact that we make luxurious living accessible and attainable,” says project director Sandro Vicente Javier. “Our developments are reasonably priced. We focus on the premium middle market and balance the key housing factors of quality, style and durability with affordability.”
