'Appetite' marks 6th year with a restaurant festival

-

MANILA, Philippines - Appetite magazine, the ultimate bible for the gastronomic adventurer, sizzles on its sixth anniversary with a three-month-long feast that will surely whet your appetite.

Twenty-five restaurants in Eastwood City will offer a special treat for a minimum P1,000 single receipt food purchase or create a special menu just for Appetite magazine from Oct. 15, 2010 to Jan. 15, 2011.

Inspired by the famed degustation in the world’s culinary hotspots Paris and New York, Appetite magazine’s Restaurant Festival promises to be the dining event Filipinos shouldn’t miss.

“This is our way of giving back to our readers who supported us for the past six years,” said Lorraine Timbol, editor-in-chief.

Appetite also recommends select restaurants in Eastwood City by posting stickers that read: “Appetite magazine recommends.”

“One of the hardest decisions mallgoers have to make is where to dine. Because there are so many choices in Eastwood City, we came up with recommendations on where to dine out with friends, family or that special someone,” Timbol added.

During Appetite’s anniversary celebration last Oct. 14, guests were treated to a night of great dining when over 20 restaurants in Eastwood City gathered under one roof to offer their delectable dishes for free. Hosted by celebrity mom and fashionable foodie Issa Litton, guests from all over the metro got to sample some of the best dishes — from savory appetizers to mouthwatering desserts.

The new Appetite team was also introduced. Led by chef and professional food stylist Lorraine Timbol, the staff members are Joseph Holandes Ubalde, associate editor; Patricia Alfonso, editorial assistant; and Chelsea Mae Lim, graphic artist and art director.

Appetite magazine was born in October 2004 as a bi-monthly food and lifestyle glossy of Mega Publishing Group. Unlike other magazines that only filled its pages with recipes, Appetite had sections on dining, chefs and, for a time, even fashion. Owing to its success, Appetite became a monthly publication in February 2009. In April this year, Appetite changed its look to cater to the discerning Filipino homemakers, undoubtedly the best cooks in the house.

Now in its sixth year, Appetite continues to pioneer the Filipino eating experience by providing helpful guides and tips to its readers, while giving out easy-to-do recipes that are certified kitchen-tested and expert-tasted.

The Appetite Restaurant Festival Launch in Eastwood City was a production of Events 100. Appetite magazine is a prestige publication of Mega Publishing Group.
