MANILA, Philippines - Most employees dread the thought of being stuck in a cubicle for nine hours every day. At Kraft Foods Philippines, employees are the opposite: they don’t want to leave the exciting and energetic office. It’s because Kraft Foods built a vibrant, engaging space that reflects the company’s fun-loving approach to work.

The global food company’s promise of making every day delicious is not just for its millions of consumers but also extends to employees. Kraft Foods inspires them to be the best through creativity and passion.

Located in Sucat, Parañaque, the headquarters feature a Zen garden in the middle of the complex which can be seen from office windows and public spaces, and offers refreshing outdoor meeting areas. The surroundings feature lush greenery and hallways dotted with bursts of vibrant colors to awaken the senses.

 “I look forward to going to work every day and I don’t have to go out of the office to have fun and take care of my health,” says Luz Mercurio, HR commercial manager. “Our flexible time policy allows me to maximize the gym, spa and massage centers built right inside the compound.” Food options are varied as well with a Kraft Mart, round-the-clock canteen, Sexy Chef stand and other food vendors.

Alex Tacderas, Kraft Foods category manager for cheese and spoonables, explains how their vision to modernize Kraft Foods’ office came to being. Tacderas was one of the design team’s creative consultants. “We tackled this project with the idea of modernizing the office space and making it consistent with the values of openness and teamwork. So I asked non-conventional partners to bid on the interiors and decor of the building,” he says.

To symbolize seamless flow of energy, ideas and cooperation, the design team made sure there was an interconnection between departments. “The connecting corridors and pathways signal that we are all joined as one by our corporate purpose and that we are committed to work together,” notes Ithiel Avendaño, Kraft Foods procurement manager. 

Avendaño adds, “Our innovation room features unconventional furniture, circular doors and glass walls while facing a calming infinity spring. It offers cushions and pillows for associates to feel comfortable and creative during meetings and discussions. The room’s vibrant energy sparks imagination.”

 “When Kraft Food’s new mission, vision, and values were introduced, we wanted to highlight the credo of making every day delicious by inserting it into our daily working life,” explains Sudip Mall, general manager for Kraft Foods Philippines. “We have maximized our spaces to provide employees opportunities to manage work-life balance. Facilities were built right into the office to remind employees of a higher purpose: that making life delicious starts with leading a healthy and happy life.”
