Sustainability in design for MADE Competition at The Capital Towers

-

MANILA, Philippines - Property developer Federal Land has stepped up to the challenge of designing sustainable and eco-friendly homes by sponsoring the 2010 Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) Interior Design Competition.

Using actual units of The Capital Towers, Federal Land’s latest residential enclave in Quezon City, young interior designers who participated were tasked to create home pattern ideas that ensure the health of the environment.

Transforming one-bedroom units into more innovative and functional homes using recyclable materials may be a daunting task but designers Maureen Grace De Jesus and Heidrun Milan proved otherwise. De Jesus’ entry, “Rise of the Fallen,” received the grand prize while Milan’s work, “Eco-lectic Reflections,” was given a special citation. Working on the contest theme, “Eco and Elegant Interior Design towards a Sustainable Future,” the winners showed that even on limited spaces, one can create homes that are also highly sustainable.

Located along E. Rodriquez Sr. Ave., this three-tower residential community enjoys proximity to the city’s premier districts, which allows its residents to get to their destinations easier, resulting in more time spent with family and loved ones.

Units are available at The Capital Towers. Unit turnover for the first tower, Athens, is ongoing while construction work on the second tower Beijing has started. For information, visit its showroom at E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue in Quezon City, or call 723-4153, or visit www.thecapitaltowers.com.ph.
