Jet-setters unite in society lounge
The style-savvy Philippine Cancer Society Best Dressed Women of the Philippines 2010 awardee Salome Uy and her well-traveled group of friends who have gone to Europe, Tokyo and Singapore to taste the best cuisine and avail of exciting shopping sprees recently included upscale dining and lounge spot Society Lounge in their prime destination list. A brainchild of Patrice Freuslon, Andren Dizon, Jason Choachuy and Kerwin Yap, Society Lounge is known for its cozy and chic ambiance plus savory dishes inspired by French fashion food prepared by seasoned chef and general manager Patrice Freuslon. After all, Patrice has honed his culinary skills as executive chef at the Le Berloiz in Grenoble, France, Maxim’s des Mers and Restaurant L’Olive D’Or in Saint-Maxime, France and as a pastry chef at the Hotel Hyatt Regency in Texas before deciding to present his expertise here in the Philippines. The Society Lounge also boasts an art collection in which the works of the talented artist, Ivan Acuña is prominently displayed. After the sumptuous dinner, the group hit the lounge for hours of chatting about their global escapades over sparkling champagne and vintage wines. Surely, every gathering in Society Lounge is bound to be perfect. Cheers!
Showcasing the best of the Philippines
Members of the international community recently participated enthusiastically in a grand cultural parade at the Tiendesitas in Pasig. Dean of the Consular Corps of the Philippines, gracious Guatemala consul Mellie Ablaza along with hardworking fellowship chairperson, El Salvador consul Tabbie Ortigas-Duarte and vice chairperson, ageless Angola consul Helen Ong, organized the event, which was sponsored for the second consecutive year by Ortigas and Company Ltd. The parade was made colorful and festive with the beautifully-dressed participants, marching band, street dancers, fireworks, and a medley of Philippine music and dance performed by Sinika Band and Pangkat Kalinangan. The spectacular event truly gave consuls and diplomats a better appreciation of the Philippine culture. Congratulations!
