Every day's a weekend at Circulo Verde

-

MANILA, Philippines - Verde Weekends recently opened in Circulo Verde, a premier development by Ortigas & Co. Ltd. Partnership (OCLP), located at Calle Industria, Bagumbayan, Quezon City.

Verde Weekends is an interim development for everyone who plans to indulge in a hodgepodge of outdoor activities like biking, Frisbee-throwing, kite flying, and jogging.

More than just the vast open space, it has a remote-control racetrack and a zip line. Zorb balls were also made available during its official launch on June 12, coupled with an exciting exhibition from the Philippine Flag Football Team. Bannister Academy, a new co-ed and secular school located inside Circulo Verde, also opened its doors to the public and launched its initial curriculum.

“Circulo Verde is a 12-hectare development; phase one of which is being constructed right now and set for completion in five years,” says Joey Santos, Deputy COO and General Manager of the Real Estate Division, Ortigas & Co. “We chose to use part of the property to build Verde Weekends for people to get a glimpse of the kind of leisure and living Ortigas developments can provide. This is our promise of wide, open spaces and room for day-to-day recreation.”

The first motorized zip line in the metro, the Zoom zip line, which is operated by Tree Top Adventure QC, opened the Silver Surfer and Superman Rides at Verde Weekends. Flying at about 45 kph. for 400 meters (to and from) at 100-ft. elevation, the Superman Ride is not for the faint of heart. For first-timers and kids, the Silver Surfer offers a four-minute ride at 80 ft. above the ground with some unexpected stops and swings. Zoom is open every day from 4 p.m. until 12 midnight.

A remote-control racetrack is where the big boys converge for show-stopping exhibitions of RC cars. Verde Weekends’ racetrack is an off-road track with ramps and jumps for an avid racer to negotiate around. The facility offers a computerized lap counting system during races. Enthusiasts of RC toys are not only limited to playing with cars on the ground. Owing to the vastness of the space, one can also fly RC helicopters and planes at the expanse of the development.

Bannister offers basic education from pre-school to high school level, running on the philosophy “teach students rather than subjects.” It aspires to impart holistic education, which makes possible personal integrity, fluency in communication, and sound moral judgment. Bannister’s location (inside Circulo Verde) is convenient for future residents and neighboring communities.

There is more to look forward to for phase one residents as Ortigas & Co. also plans to develop a soccer field, a baseball diamond, and a pavilion for events in Verde Weekends, which will open towards the end of the year.
