Illumina means light

MANILA, Philippines - At Illumina Residences Manila, the newest landmark to rise in busy Sta. Mesa district at the corner of V. Mapa and P. Sanchez Sts., all 586 units have balconies and large windows that make it easy for natural light to come in.

“All the end units have two balconies,” DMCI Homes marketing manager Cherrie Lyn Cruz says. The generous cuts of the studio, two- and three-bedroom units will let future residents enjoy roomy and comfortable spaces.

The unique T-shaped building features landscaped atriums every five floors to promote good airflow and allow natural light to pass through. Single-loaded corridors provide privacy, facing an open space rather than your neighbor’s door. What’s more, the 32-storey high-rise affords an unobstructed 360-degree view of Metro Manila’s skyline.

This overall sense of light and space is showcased in the model unit that is now ready for public viewing. “To help project the illusion of space, we used neutral colors, as well as lighter shades of grays and whites,” DMCI Homes senior interior designer Pam Maningas explains.

“The theme is contemporary, so we used wood, softer tones, and splashes of color like pastels, greens, oranges, and some brown shades. The concept is more practical.”

Gruppo Espazio designed the main lobby as well as the function areas for events, dining and small gatherings. The hotel-like lobby gives you a “grand sense of arrival,” Cruz says.

Illumina also features resort-like ambiance and amenities such as a swimming pool and a basketball court. More than half of the 6,935.50-sq.m. property on which Illumina stands is dedicated to open spaces.
