The call of the wild at SM Skygarden

-

MANILA, Philippines - Lions in all their regal glory, graceful flamingos on the water, giraffes standing tall and awesome, impalas and wildebeests grazing at the lawn, rhinos and hippos in the wild, and elephants moving their trunks.

These were some of the attractions at the Skygarden Safari Adventure at SM City North EDSA as the mall took shoppers on an exciting outdoor adventure from April 17 to May 31.

Creatively housed in settings similar to their own habitats, the animals included cheetahs, leopards, zebras, gorillas, baboons, and vultures. Kids learned more about the animals with signs in each area, and had a chance to have their photos taken at the booth in front of the Skydome by simply presenting a single or accumulated receipts worth P500 from Skygarden tenants.

The launch was emceed by Paolo Bediones with fire dancers and fire eaters entertaining guests. Hansa Toys International CEO and managing director Hans Axthelm and SCMC president Annie Garcia led the opening rites, which had them cutting through a vine. SM AVP for operations Bien Mateo, SVP for marketing Joaquin San Agustin, celebrity kids Erika Vinculado and Zaijan Jaranillo a.k.a. Santino, and actor Lander Vera-Perez with daughters Reigne and Reigen joined them.

Children with disabilities from Parents Advocate for Visually Impaired Children (PAVIC) and the Autism Society of the Philippines were also able to enjoy the safari adventure as special education materials were provided in Braille.
