Invitation to love
MANILA, Philippines - It was an invitation to love nobody could resist when friends and members of the Dayrit family — Jaqui Boncan, Michelle Soliven, Mark, Christine and Yvonne Romualdez — trooped to their home for the Miladay jewelry fashion show and exhibit.
Guests were treated to a runway show featuring the various stages of love, each one modeled by friends of the Dayrit family. Directed by Freddie Santos, his theatrical aura and antics led guests down memory lane as they daydreamed and reminisced about their milestones in love — from single-blessedness to engagement, marriage, and anniversary. The show also celebrated one’s love for self and friends, with every special occasion highlighted by pieces set with sensual black and white diamonds, and jaw-dropping diamond-studded necklaces.
After the show, guests were led into the jewelry salons, where they could select their own markers and milestones of love and life. As the faint reprises of La Vie En Rose filled the background, renowned chef Jessie Sincioco of Enchanté heightened the senses by serving her personalized menu of wines, spirits, and platters of beef and lamb ball skewers, herbed crepes, assorted cheese puffs, finished off with French truffle kisses, juicy strawberries dipped in chocolate, and orange madeleins.
It was a homecoming of sorts as long-time friends of the Dayrits joined in the festivities to revel and relive the love story that started it all — that Miladay is a beautiful story of love between founders Mila and Ting Dayrit.
Every piece of jewelry on that night to remember was an invitation to love.
