Habitat auctions art for the Red Cross
MANILA, Philippines - The recent floods and Christmas season were two good reasons to hold an art auction and raise money for the Philippine Red Cross. Habitat owner and designer Chris Lacson enlisted the help of artists Wig Tysmans, Gus Albor, Reggie Yuson, Hans Brumann, Rupert Jacinto, Jemina Reyes, Eghai Roxas, designers Tony Gonzalez, Tes Pasola, Milo Naval and art from Chris himself.
Red Cross Governor Rosa Rosal attended the auction and guests were photographed in the original Frame Chair designed by Chris Lacson. This first design spawned the next version, which won an award, and was recently purchased by the ruler of Dubai for his palace. Musical maestro Louie Ocampo and artist Hans Brumann gave their seal of approval on the Kartel Stereo Chair.
New Christmas gifts were launched as well as the limited-edition collector’s pieces from The Art of Dale Mathis (Habitat is the exclusive showroom for international artist Dale’s pieces, who has been featured on CBS, MTV, HGTV and Playboy magazine).
Check out the art and new furniture pieces and grab the opportunity to help the Red Cross. Look for the giant golden “h” — Habitat at 115 Rada in Legaspi Village, or call 819-0903.
