Automatic Centre captures smiles
MANILA, Philippines - Automatic Centre, the pioneer appliance retail chain in the Philippines, launched “Captured Smiles,” a photography contest that aimed to capture Filipinos’ happy moments and contagious smiles. The contest launches Automatic Centre’s “Building a Happy Family One at a Time’’ campaign.
Sam Frederick Lim, general manager of Blims Fine Furniture, sister company of Automatic Centre, says the overwhelming number of entries they received is a testimony to the fun-loving and happy spirit of Pinoys despite adversity.
The winning entry is by 23-year-old college student Jophel Ybiosa, titled “Moment of Fun.” Ybiosa bagged a trip for two to Boracay, with hotel accommodations and pocket money, an L19 Nikon camera, and a two-day photography workshop at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging (PCCI).
“Accidental’’ photographer Vincent Kho of Quiapo, Manila, bagged second place with “Colors of Smiles,” which captured two charming parade muses garbed in colorful, beaded costumes.
Third placer Raniel Jose Castaneda, a 43-year-old government employee, entered “Friendship’,’ which showed two Ifugao women in a moment of techno bliss. Kho and Castaneda were awarded FE310 Olympus cameras.
