Home makeovers, one room at a time
MANILA, Philippines - Two exciting events were recently held at Handyman in Robinsons Place Ermita’s Midtown Atrium. The Home Improvement Fair, which ran from Oct. 22 to 24, highlighted Handyman’s wide array of quality products. Alongside this fair was the launch of the book, Room by Room Makeovers: 27 Befores and Afters and 101 Tips, a collaborative effort of Handyman and Real Living magazine.
The exhibit showcased products found in Handyman applied and used in practical, innovative ways in particular areas of the home such as the living room, bedroom, bathroom and garage. Do It Best Quality Paints demonstrated computerized paint mixing to enhance and liven up every corner of one’s home. All these were made possible through the cooperation and sponsorship of reputable brand partners such as Black & Decker, HCG, Royal Tern Ceramics, Akari Lights, Philips Lights, Stanley Tools and Do it Best Quality Paints, among others.
Over the years, Handyman has been actively supporting Real Living’s Home Makeovers. This successful partnership inspired them to compile select makeover stories in the new book, which is filled with wonderful design ideas and hundreds of inspiring before-and-after photos and tips on space planning, organizing, color schemes and practical how-to’s and DIY projects.
“An ideal renovation is usually done per area or per room in the house. This way, the burdens of cost and time are not as heavy compared to a complete home renovation in one go,” said Real Living editor in chief Rachelle Medina. “Handyman is happy to join hands with Real Living for the publication of this book, which we believe will be a big help for those who want to refurbish their homes at affordable costs. It is packed with a treasure trove of ideas for homeowners,” said Stanley Co, general manager of Handyman, who graced the launching together with Willy Co, president of Handyman and Herco Trading, distributor of Stanley hand tools; Anthony Allarey, commercial director of Black & Decker Power Tools; Norman Dy, president of NKD, distributor of Black & Decker Power Tools; Rachelle Medina; and Danio Caw, team publisher of Real Living.
During the event, guests and shoppers were treated to free workshop sessions by seasoned designers Tisha Alvarez-Angluben, who talked about “How Not To Win a Makeover,” and Hannah Faustino-Acab, who discussed the topic “Instant Makeovers and Shared Spaces.”
Room by Room Makeovers is available in Handyman stores, bookstores, newsstands and convenience stores for only P120 per copy.
