Essaying the A-side and B-side of life
MANILA, Philippines – Milflores Publishing, Inc. has released A-Side/B-Side: Ang Mga Piso sa Jukebox ng Buhay Mo, a new collection of hilarious, imaginative, and reflective essays in Filipino by Vlad Bautista Gonzales, author of the best-selling Isang Napakalaking Kaastigan.
It is, perhaps, the ease with which Vlad writes his essays about popular culture that makes a number of readers suspect that he is really the mysterious Bob Ong — a speculation Vlad denies.
Vlad teaches Malikhaing Pagsulat, Panitikan at Kulturang Popular at UP Diliman and has taught at the Kagawaran Filipino at Ateneo University. He claims that he can sing 75 to 80 percent of all Beatles and Eraserheads songs.
The book cover was designed by Elbert Or and the layout was done by Zenaida Ebalan.
