DMCI makes the big move to a new home
After nine years of providing quality homes and well-planned communities for the underserved market of young, modest-income Filipinos and their families, DMCI Homes has finally moved in to its new home — the DMCI Homes Corporate Center (DHCC) on Apolinario St., Bangkal, Makati City.
The ribbon-cutting rites were led by DMCI Homes president Isidro A. Consunji, DMCI Homes managing director Alfredo R. Austria, and company treasurer Edwina C. Laperal.
The inauguration was attended by DMCI Homes’ business partners, associates, investors, friends and supporters, and colleagues from sister companies under the DMCI Group of Companies, and the parent company, DMCI Holdings. David M. Consunji, the patriarch of the company and the man who started it all, basked in the triumph of this milestone.
“The big move is both a physical and symbolic manifestation of the company’s continued growth,” said Austria. “Starting as a task force of DMCI in 1999, we achieved significant success that in 2003, we were big enough to be set up as a business unit.”
The company’s continuous growth only necessitates expansion, so arrangements were finalized for the old Intel building on Apolinario St. to be utilized as the headquarters of DMCI Homes.
“From being housed in different offices, which constricted our operations, we are now finally gathered in one building and we expect to conduct a more efficient way of doing business,” said Rey C. Salazar, DMCI Homes’ director for business development and general services. “Currently, we’re just using 8,000-sq.m. of the complex, so we can even afford to lease out space to firms like business process outsourcing companies and service establishments.”
Today, DMCI Homes is one of the country’s biggest real estate players, developing homes and communities for the middle-income or the core-mid segment. As of October last year, the company had already achieved a 28 percent increase in gross sales compared to last year.
Three of the company’s active mid-rise condominium projects have already been sold out: Bonifacio Heights, The Manors at Celebrity Place, and Riverfront Residences.
DMCI Homes likewise opened new buildings in its existing projects, such as Heliconia Building at Tivoli Garden Residences, Paloverde Tower at Dansalan Gardens Condominiums, and Altiva Building at Cypress Towers. Meanwhile Alta Vista de Boracay, the company’s flagship residential leisure project, recently completed 10 new buildings and launched the formal operation of the AVB condotel.
“The company will also improve on all aspects of its operational efficiency by adapting new systems and programs that will further enhance productivity and efficiency to provide the best value for ‘Alfonso,’ as we fondly like to call our mid-income segment target market.”
“The move to a bigger building connotes stability and strength,” Salazar added. “We’re here to stay and make our mark. We feel more confident about our future that we will continue to prosper as a major player in the industry.”
DMCI Homes is the country’s first triple A builder/developer that offers modest-income families optimum value for their money by providing homes with exceptional features and amenities, world-standard craftsmanship born out of more than 50 years of experience in the construction and development industry.
