KC and the sunshine bond

- Tim Yap -

The sun, the sand, and Supreme’s ultimate summer sweetheart KC Concepcion — that’s what you see splashed all around the metro in Bayo’s summer campaign.

She winks at you, inviting you to join her as she makes you fall in love with the hottest season. But behind these larger than life still images is a larger than life KC — in the beach. In a bikini. With a killer body.

Supreme was there when KC was bonding with the sunshine. Okay, I take that back. KC is the sunshine. Experiencing Boracay with KC made me see the island in a whole new light. To her, everything is new — she looks at the world with a sense of infectious delight. Like a kid in a candy store, KC found her paradise, just like us, within the confines of our beautiful country. One minute we’re strolling around Station 2 sipping our shakes, the next minute she’s conquering the waves in a jet ski. I take a deep breath and pause through the action after watching her preen in front of Mark Nicdao’s camera, and the next thing I know, KC comes back with a friend who we adoringly call Tisay, an 11-year-old beach angel who braids hair on the island to help her family make ends meet. KC met Tisay the first time she got to the island, and they’ve become friends ever since.

Walking back home from a splendid seafood dinner at Escondido, KC would stop and take snapshots of the sand sculptures splattered around the island, eyes wide with wonder. On our way back to The Tides, she would stop and marvel at the new establishments on the beach, and then just when we are about to order our drinks, she would run off and have impromptu bartending lessons with the amused wait staff in awe of the star’s presence. She would traipse around the island in Bayo beach gowns and beaded flip flops, as the flowy fabric of the dress seems to dance with the breeze.

KC is as active as active can be, with the water being the perfect counterpoint to a young lady with so much fire within. She is brimming with energy that flows from a source of lust… for life.

That’s why I say she’s our sunshine.
