Sonera: Fenceless and free living

Sonera uses a combination of electronic vehicular pass cards (V-cards) to control vehicular access. The community also boasts infrared perimeter alarms, remote access cameras, and individual alarm systems.

Compared to other villages, Sonera is relatively small, making it easier to track visitors. "The village also has no public component. The schools and country clubs, which usually generate traffic, are outside the village." With the launch of this project last year, the take-up has been very good. We are fortunate that we have a good following."
