Philtown, the Philippines’ premier real estate developer with prestigious projects such as One McKinley Place, Fairways Tower and The Metropolitan, held the fourth leg of its Good Life Concert Series at The Edge showroom to the delight of unit owners, prospective buyers and special guests. The Good Life Concert Series serves as Philtown’s gesture of thanks to those who have supported the company in its successful 10-year history.
Featuring the father-and-daughter tandem of
Hajji and Rachel Alejandro, the musical extravaganza combined music, dance and comedy from two of the country’s most loved balladeers. Apart from developing quality projects at affordable prices, Philtown organizes social events for its many clients. It was a wine connoisseur’s paradise at Toast 2005: The Wine Festival at the Rockwell Tent in Makati. Wine superstore Wine Depot served up two phenomenal days of bacchanalia as wine flowed. The event kicked off with a jovial spray of the bubbly as esteemed guests from the foreign diplomatic community popped Classic Omni Sparkling wines at the tent entrance. The celebration swung into high gear with attendees such as restaurant and hotel representatives, wine enthusiasts, and chefs sampling the festival’s amazing selection of 126 wines poured by 35 wineries – leading New World wines from Australia, New Zealand, Chile, South Africa, and California, and popular Old World wines from France, Spain, and Argentina. The event was a huge success thanks to the efforts of Wine Depot’s
Brett Tolhurst and three hardworking and beautiful belles: manager
Joanna Galent, who oversees the retail side of the business;
Hazel Huelves, who handles the store’s Wine Club membership; and
Grace Miranda, who takes care of wholesale operations. Toast 2005’s crowning event was at the "Meet the Wine Makers" Dinner Gala & Auction at the New World Renaissance Hotel. At the black-tie affair, hosted by your columnist, guests savored fine cuisine and chatted with the celebrity winemaker of their choice. The wines and the dishes were served with pomp and flourish, as the waiters and wine butlers served with synchronized choreography. The winemakers also presented the wines that they had donated for the evening’s highlight – a charity auction for the benefit of the Chosen Children Foundation in Tagaytay. Indeed, Toast 2005 was a smashing success!
