Papagayo’s the place!

People from all walks of life longing for a unique dining experience all head to Papagayo Restau-rant at Makati Avenue corner Jupiter Street. Doctors, lawyers, actresses, members of the media, even golfers and horse-racing aficionados troop to this homey dining place for its ambiance and for the succulent rib-eye steak and the luscious Than Long Crabs. Papagayo was reinvented by Connie Lacson and Olivia Villanueva Pizzaro from Nina’s Papagayo, which their mother started in the ’50s. Apart from the sumptuous food, the location has a panoramic view of Makati, reasonably-priced dishes, and live music every Friday and Saturday evenings.

The kind people of Papagayo are organizing exciting events, too. A luncheon fashion show featuring the 2005 Holiday Collection of Criselda Lontok’s brand, Criselda by Rustan’s, is scheduled on Saturday, December 17 at 12 noon. Participating models, who gamely volunteered for this charity event, include Manila’s Loveliest Cristal Bagatsing, Rumples Estacio, Rona Vergel de Dios and Pam Ayson, as well as Marylou Prieto, Roi Phillips, Susan Campos, Josie Yu, Kelly Illusorio, Patti Cupupin, Chelle Magno and Coco. Tickets come with a complete lunch menu, and part of the proceeds will go to imprisoned children and Makati’s indigent youth. Criselda will also raffle off two designer blouses from the Criselda Lontok Holiday Collection. More events are being prepared for the coming year. Congratulations, Papagayo!

Birthday Bliss

The vibrant and youthful lady of grace Babes Yu celebrated her birthday and the launch party of her Grefas Face Fitness Center with much happiness and success. The double celebration was filled with Babes’ special guests, who were introduced to the breakthrough treatments offered at her fitness center. Recognized as the best endorser of her business because of her glowing skin, Babes also wowed the crowd with her skill in ballroom dancing. Happy birthday!
