Preparing your home for the holidays

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
The yuletide season is just around the corner, and for us Filipinos, that means a lot of relatives and other guests coming over to visit. With the right planning, homeowners can prepare their abode for the arrival of visitors. Here are some tips from Federal Design Expo’s interior designer and store manager Mari Ruiz-Gomez on how to prepare your home for the holidays.

Before you invite guests over, count the number of people you can accommodate comfortably. When buying living room and dining room furniture sets, maximize the number of people you can seat. Invest in a buffet cabinet – this will allow you to serve food to a number of guests greater than what your dining table can seat. Get a dining table that can accommodate occasional guests aside from your family members. If you don’t have a guest room, your home office or den can double as one. With a sofa bed inside it, any extra room can serve as sleeping quarters for guests.

Federal Design Expo, the one-stop home building, furniture and lifestyle center, features imported and locally made designer furniture for the living room, dining room, and bedroom that are set up in expertly designed furniture showcases, with helpful and friendly interior designers ready to help customers with interior design advice.

Making Noise In Angeles
It was quite a flamboyant and memorable affair as Federal Hardware, the one-stop hardware superstore, held their first Builder’s Day at their huge, huge branch in Angeles City, Pampanga. The event started with a motorcade that traveled around the main streets of the city, drawing attention with colorful balloons and a catchy jingle.

Everyone who was anyone then converged in the giant warehouse for a sumptuous lunch. Top contractors and architects from the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), led by UAP President Jun Vitug, were seen mingling with Federal Hardware’s valued suppliers and customers. The suppliers gave short AVP presentations about their products, as Ceramic Plaza AVP for Operations Charles Martin Go made sure that the event was a success.

Congratulations on making your mark on Angeles City!
