The ever-generous Sultan Armando "Andy" de Rossi once again showed his support for the 101st Philippine Coast Guard at the First Boat Commissioning and Blessing of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), of which he is an active member. The ceremony took place at the strip of Roxas Blvd. in front of the Malate Church, near the Manila Yacht Club.
Sixty-four private boats were commissioned by the Philippine Coast Guard as official auxiliary units. The boats will be used for support in Philippine Coast Guards operations such as search-and rescue, recovery and anti-smuggling procedures. After the traditional presentation of boats, they were blessed by Father Savino Bernardi.
Among those present were Philippine Coast Guard Commander Danilo Corpuz; Philippine Coast Guard Vice Admiral Reuben Lista; Rear Admiral Ildefonso Tronquet, Commodore of the Manila Yacht Club; Capt. Romy Herman, Squadron Commander of the 101st PCGA; Capt. Timothy Clemente and SFC Robert Mahoney of the Joint United States Military Assistance Group (JUSMAG); architect Deo Tablan Jr., representing Manila Mayor Lito Atienza; and Capt. Armando de Rossi.
Afterwards, guests at the Manila Yacht Club had a delicous lunch and the presentation of awards of appreciation to the members of the PCGA was held. Andy received his award with his usual humble thanks.
Keep up the good work, Andy!
