Back to Boracay

I ask myself many times what it is that makes me take Cebu Pacific for trips to Boracay. Now I know.
The Great Vacation Extender. That is what this recent flight to Boracay aboard Cebu Pacific was to me, a professional who cannot afford extended vacation breaks. The holiday mood set in even before our take off and extended long after our flight out of paradise island.
The feeling was definitely shared. Outbound, as the plane started to stabilize, this lady across the aisle caught my attention. She was gorgeous! Unbuckling her seatbelt, she changed her long heeled shoes for a pair of black rubberized beach socks, uncurled her hair and flipped it to one side, stretched and reclined her seat, got a book from her bag, opened it, took a deep breath and was into another world. The guy across did a rerun, replicating almost every motion sequentially, except uncurling his hair, silly!
The body language says it all time to enjoy and relax. That is the mindset on board CP.
This was not my first trip to the island paradise. Nonetheless, the expectation and great excitement never cease. This time, after being positively distracted by the presence of PBA players on their way to Bacolod for an out-of-town game, the pleasurable feeling of travel started perking up as boarding announcement came. As usual, flight on schedule.
The in-flight service was an excellent experience. Reading materials and refreshments, the kindness, the attention and personalized service from the heart I got from the in-flight host and hostesses were all there. It was like having a valet on board, almost alert to a fault.
About mid-flight, the fun and games began as the plane hovered over 30,000 feet. Prizes given are functional and practical travel waist bags, fun watches, T-shirts and others.
There was more to just winning these in-flight games, as I learned later. Winning entitled me to membership in the Summit Travel Group. That meant more discounts and travel privileges. More importantly, that gave me time to meet and chat with the beautiful hostesses. It was nice to know that aside from the low rates the tie-up with leading hotels in points of CP destinations in Manila, Makati, Ortigas, Quezon City and key cities in the country gives passengers of the airline added discounts and savings during their stay in these affiliated hotels.
The interesting chat also got me updated on other CP offerings and services, like on-line information and service on the web page of Cebu Pacific.
