Yes, they Biltmore space

- Johnny Litton -
Biltmore on Greenbelt, the 30-storey Neoclassic premier residential high-rise located at 102 Aguirre St., off Paseo de Roxas, is one of those remarkable structures that hint, more than announce, its elegance.

Located right in the center of Makati’s exclusive business and residential hub, it is a regal statement in itself. The façade, with its modernist design hearkening to the best Park Avenue addresses, is an expert melding of granite, limestone and glass, conveying an understated yet thoroughly contemporary appeal. As you sweep through its lobby, you immediately notice the detailing, from the very tasteful Barovier and Toso chandelier, to the continuous flow of choice materials in every corner. Close-circuit cameras monitor the lobby and hallway to the lifts.

Biltmore on Greenbelt celebrates space – perhaps the one feature that sets it apart from other premier residential addresses, which pale in comparison to the expansive layout of each residential unit, its sprawling floor areas and high ceilings.

There are three residential choices: one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Each one breathtaking in its generous spaces, with a sizable rear area and for the larger units, a separate maids’ quarters.

Each detail was built to last, each carefully discerned. The exquisite interiors, with sleek furnishings and contemporary design, done by Ivy Almario, make it among the most tastefully furbished modernist high-rise homes today. Maple and cherry wood, granite, solid walls and Porcelanosa tiles complete the look.

Biltmore has nine floors of parking space with unprecedented ceiling and spaces in between. It has six podium levels and three basements, each with secured elevator lobbies. There’s a drivers’ lounge, a paging system and controlled access to the elevators on all parking floors.

Biltmore has a formidable automatic standby power generator with an immense output, 24-hour security with closed-circuit TV monitoring at every entrance. There’s housekeeping, automatic heat and smoke detection and fire sprinkler, virtually every standard in reputable buildings in New York and the world over. There is an expansive space at the top for parties, and a swimming pool.

Biltmore on Greenbelt is contemporary in every detail, except for one aspect: the philosophy with which it was built – the old-fashioned way. Biltmore was based on the strict conditions imposed by the man who single-handedly built it. It had to be the best, without compare and it was going to last.

Biltmore on Greenbelt was built with this end in mind: That it is going to be a place every discerning upscale urbanite can call home, far removed from the cold designs commonplace today in similar structures.

The building was built by a legend in the industry: Bernardo Lichaytoo. His is a name synonymous with 35 years of building only the best, ranging from reputable and exclusive enclaves such as Ayala Alabang, Bel-Air, Forbes and Dasmariñas – all of which he developed from his vision, to "build homes and not concrete."

Such is his reputation that when he finished the towering 30-storey Biltmore on Greenbelt, already acknowledged to be the most elegant and tasteful premier address in Makati, immediately 60 percent of the airy and spacious units were quickly snapped up by his loyal following, people who are familiar with the quality of his work. What made this remarkable is that there was hardly any marketing done, save for the man’s formidable track record, which in itself is the first and last word in quality and vision in the industry.

He sums his philosophy on Biltmore as thus, "One important point immediately comes to mind when you see the Biltmore: It is a place that you would definitely want to live in. We have worked extremely hard to create living spaces that are practical and of the best materials available."
