FDAP launches Bodyshots 2001

The hunt is on for bright and promising new male and female models with that elusive X factor as the Fashion Designers Associatioin of the Phils. (FDAP) announced the launch of Bodyshots 2001 Model Competition at a luncheon hosted by Country Wafles Restaurant in Greenhills.

Now in its 12th year, Bodyshots has become the springboard for many of today’s top ramp stars like Marina Benipayo, Patty Betita, Gem Padilla, Rachel Soriano, Eazel Don, Baba Parma, Joan Bitagcol, Wilma Doesnt, Randy Salvino, Bong Regala and Mike Sol Cruz. Other outstanding alumni are lawyer-broadcaster Rod Nepomuceno, singer Calvin Millado and actors Eric Quizon, John Estrada and Ricardo Cepeda. Last year’s winners, JP Abinuman and Jay-R Valentin, have joined the ranks of Manila’s most in-demand models.

Competing for this year’s top female model discovery award are Ardel de Jesus, Shella Peters, Romina Jeffrey, Paula White, Judal Sumay, Jennifer McDonald, Bambi Abdulsani, Christy McGuire, Nikki Meneses, Michelle Schulte, Cristalin Gan, Grace Tagad, Gi-Anne Colendrez, Amy Verbo and Joyce Ortega.

In the male division, the contestants are Mark Lopez, Norwin Crespo, Senen Dizon, Luke Mucklin James Bautista, Jesse Altamirano, Lauren Novera, Jimmy Velasquez, Manolo Andres, Solomon Glass, Jairus Colendre, Zan Joe Marudo, Archie Bautista, Eric Gonzalez and Jonathan Camara.

The winners will be proclaimed at a grand pageant today at the University Theater of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. Direction by Joey Espino, Jr., make-up by Jingky Ilusorio and hairstyling by Hairbytes. Pageant photographers are Jun de Loen, Raymund Isaac and Dominique James.
