Inspire in style
MANILA, Philippines – In the dawn of social media, people run to different social networking sites to look for inspiration.
Yet a group of calligraphers together with clothing brand Tomato proved that one can carry around an inspirational quote anywhere and in style.
The clothing brand has tapped thirty calligraphy artists to create designs for their new line up of watches, which aims to inspire its owner.
“Initially it’s a simple idea of putting inspiration on a watch, and when I invited all the artists, I was so overwhelmed by the support,” said Lennie Dionisio, head of Tomato.
These thirty calligraphy artists used different mediums in doing their designs. Like one of the artists, Celine who uses colored pens in making her masterpieces.
“Kasi may two-year-old son ako, so parang sinasabi ko sa kanya na bata pa lang he can be whoever he wants to be in life,” she replied when asked about her inspirational design.
The message in her watch design says “Reach for the Stars.”
