Alixandra Caole Vila - Philstar.com

Michelle Obama gave an advice that every teenage girl needs in this generation.

As part of their education campaign Let Girls Learn, Michelle Obama spoke in front of thousands of girls at Apollo Theater in New York City on September 29 where the first lady highlighted the importance of education to empower women. She also stressed that not even boys should be a hindrance to getting that education.

"There is no boy at this age that is cute enough or interesting enough to stop you from getting your education," she said in the video released by Now This Politics.

"If I had worried about who liked me and who thought I was cute when I was at your age, I wouldn't be married to the president of the United States today," Mrs. Obama proudly added.

Joining her on the panel are actresses Charlize Theron and Sophia Bush, former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Plan International girl advocate Nurfahada. The conference was held to promote women of education to young girls.

The speech given by the first lady aims to reduce the number of out of school youths especially in girls and to motivate them to be confident with themselves.
