8 badass quotes from 'Heneral Luna' movie

Alixandra Caole Vila - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines - Antonio Luna has been one of the most unappreciated heroes of all time, until a movie about himself was shown in Philippine Cinemas  just recently.

The movie, directed by Jerrold Trog, shows Luna's abominable yet heroic personality. Heroes are usually portrayed in local movies as flawless; Tarrog goes against the grain by showing how repulsive Luna was during his years as a general of the Philippines.

Of course, we cannot over look at the fact that his repulsive character was rooted from his undying commitment and passion to save the country from foreign hands.

The movie has been generating rave reviews, creating frenzy all over the Internet. It was even chosen as the country's entry to the 2016 Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Language Film category.

If you haven't watched the most talked about movie this year, here are some badass lines that would entice you into watching it:

  1. “Ang kalaban ng kalaban ay kaibigan.”

  2. “Ganito ba talaga ang tadhana natin? Kalaban ng kalaban. Kalaban ng kakampi. Nakakapagod.”

  3. “Ang taong may damdamin ay hindi alipin.”

  4. “Nasa ibang ulo ang utak ng inyong kapitan. Hindi naman gaanong kalaki ang ulo niya.”

  5. “Nasubukan mo na bang hulihin ang hangin?”

  6. “Giyera ang asawa mo. Ako ang kabit.”

  7. “Para kayong mga birhen na naniniwala sa pag-ibig ng isang p^%#.”

  8. “Ingles-inglesin mo ko sa bayan ko?! P^&*%$a.”

Perhaps, Antonio Luna will always be remembered as an obnoxious general, but this movie is a great reminder of his impressive and unparalleled achievements to bring Philippines to where she is now.
