Jodi Sta. Maria overwhelmed as she finishes 1st 10K run
MANILA, Philippines — Actress Jodi Sta. Maria was overwhelmed as she finished her first 10K run.
In her X account, Jodi posted photos of her run as she narrated how she got the courage to sign up and run.
"I started running late last year to prepare for a role. During training, naiisip ko what if sumali ako sa race? But I would always tell myself hindi ko kaya," she said.
"Until I mustered the courage to sign up for one, which I only told a handful of people kasi nahihiya ako. I thought sasabihin ko na lang sa iba 'pag tapos na. Then I got injured — sa ibang storytime na ito," she added.

Jodi said that her first run was an emotional experience.
"So crossing the finish line of my first 10K was an emotional experience for me. It hasn’t been an easy journey and there were a lot of doubts if I could ever reach this point," she said
"Every step was a reminder of the countless hours doing therapy (kahit hindi naman ako atleta!) the frustration of setbacks, and determination to rise above it all kahit kinakabog ang dibdib! As I approached the finish line, I was flooded with relief and an overwhelming sense of gratitude," she added.
She also shared her realizations as she thanked the people who supported her.
"I realized a run is more than just a number — it represents resilience and perseverance and the unwavering belief na kakayanin mo anything you put your mind and heart into. Ayan ang haba na nito. Pag-pasensyahan n'yo na. Here’s to overcoming challenges and setting new goals," the actress said.
She ended her post by thanking the people who have helped her in her running journey.
Jodi will next be seen in the upcoming drama "Lavender Fields," co-starring with Maricel Soriano, Edu Manzano, Albert Martinez, Janine Gutierrez, Jolina Magdangal and Jericho Rosales.
