Formula One’s David Coulthard: Man of (TW) Steel
Big and oversized watches these are the first two things that come to mind when people think of TW Steel watches. Last year, they took another bold move by expanding their collection with the launch of the Pilot. Along with the campaign titled “Pilot Your Life,” TW Steel recently invaded Singapore during the Grand Prix weekend by flying in the Philippine winners of their campaign who had a chance to meet and greet one of the brand ambassadors, David Coulthard.
For the fans of Formula One, Coulthard is a former champion, winning more than a dozen Grand Prix races. As a brand ambassador of TW Steel, he easily identifies himself with the brand’s statement in being big and oversized, and represents the values the brand upholds as he is indeed big in the field of motor sports.
The winners, who were able to bring a companion on the all-expense-paid trip, relaxed with an eight-course afternoon high tea at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Hotel in downtown Singapore. Each winner had an opportunity to ask questions and have posters and postcards signed by the driving superstar.
As the formal meeting took place, there were fans approaching the area since it was held at the hotel lobby to make it more inviting, more relaxing, and easygoing for everyone. Hence, there were other fans asking for the chance to have their photo taken with him, and he happily obliged. It is rare that you can see how an icon can be so at ease with fans and so generous with his time.
All the winners proudly wore their TW Steel watches from the regular all-black stainless steel Pilot collection watch to the rose gold Canteen collection that reflected the varied statements in personality and character. This is why they chose the brand in the first place, as it reflected more than just colorful tones and bold designs. It conveyed the emotions of being assertive of what they desire in life and what they continue to aspire for.
The afternoon became even more gratifying as Jordy Cobelens, CEO of TW Steel, surprised David and the winners by joining them.
It was an afternoon that Jessamae Samson, Elvie Mae Ang, Queen Crisologo, John Henry Purugganan, and John Marvil Tobias will never forget!
