Summer fun and learning at Riverbanks

MANILA, Philippines - Though the schoolyear ended last March, fun and learning never stop as Philippine Science Centrum kicks off its “scienterrific” summer offerings.

Set on May 16-17, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., is “Assemble & Launch.” Kids, aged 10 to 16, are invited to join in teams of two for a workshop on how to make a PET bottle rocket (1.5 L), assemble their own rockets, and compete with other teams in the accuracy contest. Teachers may learn how to make their Chemistry teaching more interesting by joining the Hands on Minds on Micro Scale Chemistry Workshop on May 12, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Facilitated by DOST balik scientist and Science Centrum scientist resident Prof. Cora Salumbides, the one-day event features different experiments in a starter kit called “Laboratory in a Box.” Learning investment fee is P3,300 (inclusive of Lab Box, handouts, certificate, meals, and tour of the Science Centrum).
