How Chris Tiu stays healthy for the holidays

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Outstanding Young Men awardee for youth leadership development, basketball star, businessman, TV show host, and newlywed Chris Tiu is certainly one very busy guy. Certainly, the hectic holidays add even more to his already full plate.  That is why he relies on his favorite source of Vitamin C — Poten-cee Forte — to keep up with the rigors of an active  lifestyle.

One role that is definitely new for Chris is that of a homebody. He says that he shares domestic duties with his wife Clarisse. “We decided not to hire house help for the meantime. I am assigned to do the dishes, and I clean occasionally. I also fix the beddings in the morning, and throw garbage down the chute. Once in a while, I do the laundry.” His wife does the other tasks, from decorating and furnishing their home, to cooking. “When I am free, I accompany her to the grocery. The thing is, I don’t have a lot of time. My schedule is so packed that it is quite difficult.”

To make everything fit into his schedule this busy season, he says he has to constantly make choices. “I have to sacrifice on other things. Pipiliin mo na lang ang mga lakad mo, which can be a challenge, as friends and family are always extending invitations, and there are events left and right. I can’t accept everything, especially now that I have obligations at home.

There are commitments that he has to fulfill outside the home, too, and these have to do with his day jobs. The PBA conference is now in full swing, and Chris keeps his schedule of daily practices. “The court is my office in the mornings. I forget about everything else and focus on the game and the team.” He says the practices serve another function. “This is my workout na din.  I can’t stand not being able to exercise.”

His businesses are likewise thriving, and his group is now gearing up to open two new concepts this month. “The first is a specialty bakery called Eric Kayser, a franchise of an artisanal French brand that is sought after by those who know and love their bread. The other is a Japanese restaurant from Singapore that specializes in both ramen and tonkatsu. “These are the other things where I am focusing my energy now. We want to open up in time for the holiday season. This makes my Christmas even more chaotic!”

Chris dons a Santa hat, too. Aside from contributing to relief donations, his foundation named “Charis” is working on long-term rehabilitation projects for  some schools and communities affected by typhoon Yolanda. He adds that they also have a program called “MACS” or “Make A Child Smile” to address the post-trauma effects of the calamity.

With Chris’ hectic schedule and busy lifestyle, he relies on Poten-cee Forte’s eight-hour time-release formula to get him through the day, from one activity to the other.   This eight-hour time-release formula provides  a constant level of Vitamin C in the blood to keep the immune system strengthened all throughout the day,  providing an effective, sustained defense against sickness.  Perfect for someone like Chris who is extremely busy, and always on the go.
