Pinoy athletes win battle vs. pain

MANILA, Philippines - Athletes are among those who are most vulnerable to pain. It is inevitable in their active lifestyle. Every day, they face all risks of physical pains during training and most especially during games. This is why top Filipino athletes choose Alaxan FR as their partner in pain.

Aside from its current endorser, world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, the brand has likewise begun supporting local athletes such as the Smart San Beda Football Club in the recently concluded Smart National Club Championship where they placed second. The Smart National Club Championships is a nationwide national tournament, which pits football clubs from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and the National Capital Region (NCR).

The Smart San Beda Football Club, formerly called the Mendiola Football Club, was founded in 1991. It is one of the few clubs that have already won a national club championship.

The team is composed mostly of San Beda College’s current varsity players and alumni who comprised the Mendiola Football Club. For this tournament, the Smart San Beda Football Club included two of the country’s top celebrity football stars, Phil and James Younghusband. On the other hand, Andres Gonzales served as team captain with coach Aris Caslib at the team’s helm.

Most the players have been playing football since they were young. Thus, getting into football professionally was but inevitable.

Since football is one of the sports that are prone to injuries, the team recognizes the need to adhere to a stringent physical regimen to build up strength, as well as diet and proper treatment and medications, whenever needed. 

For love of football, the team also willingly endures a lot of pain when they have games, where their skills and physical endurance are put to the test, and during training that is as equally physically demanding. Alaxan FR becomes an indispensable partner during these times as it helps alleviate their pain so they can continue to push themselves to the limits and remain on top of their game. For the Smart San Beda team, their body pain is like battle scars as it is a manifestation of their sacrifices, as well as victories, so that they can truly be proud of their “Aray ko, galing ko” moments.

The team is thankful for Alaxan FR’s support of the Smart San Beda Football Club for this tournament. Team captain Andres Gonzales said they use Alaxan FR, which their physical therapist gives them, to cope with pain during and every competition and training.   According to coach Aris Caslib, they are glad that Alaxan FR is the team’s pain partner since their first priority when involved in highly physical activity in football is managing pain and recovering fast. The Younghusband brothers expressed their enthusiasm for Alaxan FR’s sponsorship of the Smart San Beda Football Club because the brand has always believed in and supported football.
