Rotary San Juan Gems meet

-

MANILA, Philippines - She is considered by many as the quintessential modern woman: beautiful and fashionable, a fulfilled wife and mother with a rewarding career, and a person with a compassionate and nurturing heart. On Tuesday, Nov. 8, award-winning TV host, businesswoman, and UNICEF advocate Daphne Oseña-Paez will talk about her remarkable life and extraordinary experiences at the next meeting of the Rotary Club San Juan Gems, to be held at the Makati Sports Club at 12 noon.

“As a club of women who want to make a difference in our communities, the Gems are always eager to learn from, and be inspired by, the women who have made a mark in our society,” says Dolores Cheng, president of RC San Juan Gems. “Daphne is one rare lady who has distinguished herself not only through her profession but also through her advocacies and philanthropy.”

Born in Manila but raised in Canada, Daphne started her broadcasting career in ABS-CBN covering the presidential beat. She later became a host and anchor for several shows, including ANC Life, F, and Urban Zone, winning a number of national and international awards in the process.

Aside from broadcasting, Daphne has a self-named line of jewelry, linen, and furniture. She supports numerous charitable programs and humanitarian activities, and has the distinction of being the first Filipina to be appointed as special advocate for children by UNICEF.

Non-Rotary Club members interested in attending the talk may call Tina at 723-1242 for a special invitation.
