Better beds for better health
MANILA, Philippines - Uratex, the country’s top foam manufacturer, seeks to help in the further development of beds and mattresses that are able to support our bodies and prevent musculoskeletal problems in the future.
To realize this objective, the company partnered with the Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA), the organization dedicated to excellence in the delivery of orthopaedic patient care, orthopaedic training, and medical research in the Philippines.
The signing of a cooperation agreement, which was held recently between the two entities, calls for bilateral efforts to promote deeper awareness about musculoskeletal health and well-being through effective communications and extensive research. This landmark agreement thus marks the dawn of a new era in musculoskeletal health in the Philippines.
Peachy Medina, managing director of Multiflex RNC Philippines, makers of Uratex, believes that mattresses matter so much in the care of musculoskeletal health. “Customers usually ask us what an orthopaedic mattress is. We understand this concern because they are now more aware of the relationship of their mattresses with the aches and pains they may be experiencing or would like to avoid in the future. For Uratex, we believe that a mattress that supports proper posture alignment during sleep is orthopaedic. This means that the mattress must preserve the natural curve of your spine while you lie down on your mattress,” Medina explains.
However, Medina reiterates that the natural curve of each person is quite unique depending on one’s body type, weight, and sleeping position. “That is precisely the reason why we at Uratex continuously conduct more research in order to develop a wider range of mattresses so that every Filipino may find one that fits his or her uniqueness.”
For its part, the POA, according to its president, Dr. Lauro Bonifacio, MD, MHA, welcomes the partnership, calling the cooperation between the two organizations as “based on a shared vision and mutual cooperation.”
