Starting the very informative afternoon was Dr. Elnora Macatangay, an obstetrician-gynecologist from The Medical City, who gave guests a glimpse of what to expect in their journey to motherhood, expounding on the equal importance of pre-natal and post-natal care in ensuring a positive birth outcome as well as the health and safety of both mother and baby after birth. After answering a few questions from the audience, Dr. Macatangay also quizzed the guests, and those who got the right answers received breastfeeding handbooks.
Another highlight of the event was a video presentation featuring the Philips Avent ISIS iQ Duo breast pump. A pediatrician from St. Luke’s Hospital told the audience the many benefits of breastfeeding and stressed the importance of establishing this important mother-and-baby bonding experience immediately from birth through immediate skin-to-skin contact.
Before the event wrapped up, the doctors drew the winners of the free Sunnex flasks and Goody gift packs. Two lucky moms also each received an Avent ISIS manual breast pump.
