Tumble Tots trains 'yayas'

-

MANILA, Philippines – How can nannies or yayas engage their wards in educational activities and contribute to their development instead of just watching TV or simply looking after them?

These are just one of the many concerns that Britain’s leading preschool Tumble Tots will address through a special workshop for caregivers.

The workshop dubbed “Yaya: Halina’t Magbasa” will be held on Friday, July 30 at 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Tumble Tots preschool on E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue, Libis, Quezon City.

This interactive workshop hopes to make caregivers aware of the importance of story reading and how to select the most appropriate stories or books.

Yayas will also be taught creative ways of telling stories through art, music, and singing.

The forum will be facilitated by Prof. Isabel Sapala, MA of Miriam College, who specializes in developmental reading and methods of teaching language.

Professor Sapala is also a trainer and consultant to various organizations. She will be joined by celebrity mom and actress Gladys Reyes-Sommereux who will give inputs and feedbacks to caregivers from a parent’s standpoint.

More, an interactive storytelling session for children will be facilitated by Time Life, where good books teach good values.  The session will also enable parents to preview books that are appropriate for different age groups.

The seminar fee per caregiver is P200 which covers snacks, materials, and certificate.

For inquiries and registration, call Celia Lizada at 687-6793, 687-6375 or 09177010097.  Slots are limited so participants are advised to register early.
