Embrace the green and clean lifestyle
MANILA, Philippines - Imagine living in a place amid lush greens, open spaces, and a beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers. You’d think you were living in a serene, pastoral setting somewhere far from the metro. Actually, you’re in Circulo Verde, in a quiet part of Quezon City where 70-percent of the land is devoted to parks and greenery.
The 12-hectare development of Ortigas and Company broke ground last June 18 at Calle Industria, Bagumbayan, Quezon City. Hosted by RJ Ledesma, the event was formally opened by Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry, together with Fernando Ortigas, general partner of Ortigas and Company; Noel Rapadas, chief finance officer; and Cathy Casares-Ko, real estate division general manager. Actual earth-moving by heavy equipment also happened at this unique ground breaking, with Joey Santos, deputy chief operating officer of Ortigas and Company, and Renato Bueno, a future homeowner, operating the machinery.
Miss Earth donated saplings to Circulo Verde, urging everyone to embrace the green lifestyle and hoping that the saplings would have already grown into healthy trees by the time the project is fully completed in 2012.
Another highlight of the event was the performance of artist/environmentalist Eghai Roxas who showcased his interpretation of Circulo Verde through ethnic music and a nature painting.
Ortigas and Company’s chief operating officer Rex Drilon II says the company’s latest project will ensure a clean and green living environment for future generations of Filipinos who aspire for quality living and quality communities.
Circulo Verde has devoted 70 percent of its total land area to green and open spaces which have dog parks, several swimming pools, racket sports facilities, acupressure paths, and Zoom, the first ever aerial theme park in Metro Manila, which features the zip-line based treetop adventures similar to the ones in Subic, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro City.
